Droplets Nightmare

Ladies and Gentlemen, Summer, is officially over! Can you hear the drip dropping noise of the rain now?

But hey! There is one thing in common about these two seasons: Water!!

Beaches, pools and such, and well, RAIN…

But anyway since summer’s over, let me tell you something about mr. rainy droplets

Very few people enjoys the rain, some sentimental individuals considers it as one of saddest part of the year. Why? Petty reason would be rain symbolizes tears… so you cry? Then it’s sad? Ahaha anyway, I always love rain (rain of fullhouse will do too), and there are so many reasons to love the rain: one would be classes are usually suspended durin this season (but it really sucks whenever they still thinks that it’s safe to go to school, hay I hate it when that happens), second is that, well I just love the rain, would like to walk under the rain. (corny)

But a lot has changed already, probably changes over the years, changes in how people think, changes about the weather (global warming), well everything changes basically (and notice how the thought of this blogpost changes aswell^^ ahaha).

One big turn in my life would be what happened last year, let me tell you a lil bit of my experience with Mr. rainy droplets, it was October 26 of 2009 (and it was a Saturday, damnit! I remember) when I was at Tapa King with my officemates, we’re just waiting for the rain to stop, but ofcourse, it didn’t, and yada yada yada and so we skip the soul cleansing session there (know what I mean?)

’was on my way home already but unfortunately no jeeps nor anything is planning to pass by my house, and it was raining hard, I was holding my umbrella, but it was no use, hay was still soaking wet because of the rain. Luckily after a few hrs (or minutes, I might be exaggerating and not noticing) we were able to get a cab.

Getting to FCM is an adventure, we took a few turns to the left, then right and sometimes we go around circles (or probably I was just too drunk so I was too dizzy?). but after - I don’t know how long exactly, we passed by merry homes. At last! I’m a few minutes closer to a hot bath and my soft bed, well, that’s what I thought, when I got out of the cab I summoned a tryk (ACCIO TRICYCLE!!) and advised him of my address, but he told me that we cannot go on that route since the streets are flooded already, so I insisted for him to find another route (that’s what you get when you talk to employees with no sleep).

So after going on a few turns again, finally, just a few minutes away and I can feel home, but someone stopped the tryk and told me that I can no longer go that way, it’s flooded, OUR houses were submerged under water already, nobody is there, everyone left…

It was a nightmare… I never thought that that would ever happen, but I didn’t think about the house that much, nor the stuffs I have, I haven’t slept yet either (since I’m working nightshift.. duh??) and I didn’t even feel tired. I was thinking of my family back then (here’s the emo part), ‘got no cellphone (since I’m thinking that cp has no use to me since I’ve lost him.. lost who?), I don’t know where they are, even my relatives doesn’t know where my family was back then. So from 11am ‘til 6PM I just sat in a corner, waiting for someone to give me a clue, after those 7 Long Hours of shock and despair, I was told that THEY are safe.

They were worried about me and so am I (was I ba? worried about them ah). We didn’t think about the stuff we’ve lost during that time, it’s not a question of how much we’ve lost, but it’s more of How can we start over

When the storm passed, and we’ve started to recover that’s the time we’ve realized that we’ve lost… A LOT.

After the flood, you don’t have time to sit around, it’s time to clean up the mess of what Ondoy have left, we need to get on with our lives, so first step would be: House cleaning^^ one of the challenges back then is “can you open your door”, actually it’s more like “are you sure you want to open the door?”. Well, one thing’s for sure, I don’t want to be the one to open it.

After a few days of cleaning, bleaching and such, yey! Muck and mud was removed, some left as stain.. as a reminder of the incident…

It’s like General Cleaning implemented during Martial Law (it’s a must and everyone’s doin it). And though you’re done cleaning the mess, the house is no longer the same house that I’ve loved to go back to when I’m tired, it’s no longer the same, not just by appearance but you’ll feel that it’s no longer your home. Hay during that general cleaning (ahaha panindigan na ang general cleaning ) You have to let go of the stuffs that you’ve kept for years aswell, since they’ve turned out to be full of mud and USELESS (and full of worms just like my notes for the books I read^^).

Well, that’s over, and it’s almost a year now since that happened. And it’s all coming back due to same sequence of events. I know that nobody wants that to happen again… especially to those who were affected by it.

So let’s not just hope for that not occur again, let’s also Pray and do something about it (if you know what I mean^^)

It will remain as a huge event in my life and maybe to yours aswell, I can even remember it when I sleep…

Now, To those who’ve experienced the same tragedy as we had, my question for you is: Don’t you have nightmares when it’s raining hard?

Status: rain is finally over, thank you past time, but yayks! I need to watch smile Honey
